This is not a joke, in Japan fruits are not for everybody, the fact is fruits are so expensive people can not afford them when ever they want. Japan's average monthly total cash earnings per regular employee in August 2005 were 285,465 yen. It's true it's a lot of cash aprox $2,610 but would you pay $96 for one of this, the size of your hand?
One Melon cost 10,500 yen = 96 $ (u.s.) = 1,813 Lempiras (Honduras Currency)
we are lucky to buy 6 melons around 30 lempiras = 1 1/2 $
They truly say God gives bread to whom doesn't have teeth, because I'm not much a fruit lover but in japan they are willing pay this much to have a few bites of this from now on a exquisite fruit.
